There is so much GOOD in this world. This podcast is PROOF. The people in these audio recordings genuinely care about their community. The stories they share will make your day. Your week. Your year.

As a vehicle to power the overall Spread The Positive brand, this podcast highlights:

– Notable individuals who exhibit positive and optimistic outlooks on life
– Community outreach efforts that are WORKING
– Businesses/Organizations that are doing things right in business and within the community
– Gratitude and Mindset practices, tips, routines and more

Episode 1 – Sincere-Universal/OJ Beane

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-1-ojsincere-univeral-beane

Here is what was originally going to be just a trial run to test out a call in with our super fancy “studio” set up (it’s a macbook and a usb plug in mic ha). It is really, really rough and we welcome any tips or feedback (good or bad). I say, “so to speak” like 1,000 times, sooo that is something I will be working on and obviously the “umms” and stumbling through what we are trying to say. This was done with very little practice or heads up, but with the audio working out decently and it not being straight up horrible…we wanted to go ahead and post it.

Episode 2 – Joel Bigelow (Endure Athletics)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-2-joel-bigelow

Episode 2 is with Joel Bigelow, founder of Endure Athletics. Endure is a nonprofit in Murfreesboro, TN with the mission of facilitating the homeless youth of Rutherford County. Through after school programming, Saturday morning meet ups and other regular outings Joel and his team are doing really incredible work in the lives of these children. We get into a little backstory of what brought Joel to Murfreesboro, what lead to the creation of Endure and how he incorporates positivity into his day to day routines. Big thanks to Joel and everything he does to Spread The Positive.

Episode 3 – Robin Seay (Parks)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-3-robin-seay

Episode 3 features Ms. Robin “Closing Deals in Heels” Seay. A realtor here in Murfreesboro, TN who is passionate about community outreach and being involved with making the place she calls home ultimately better for all.

Robin serves for the follow organizations:

-Murfreesboro Young Professionals (Community Outreach Chair)
-Make A Wish Brand Ambassador for Parks Realty)
-United Way Young Leader Society member
-Crosspoint Church Serve The City volunteer
-Active United Way Volunteer

Needless to say one would have to have a very optimistic and positive outlook on life to make time for all of these great causes…Robin is definitely not an exception to this rule. Not to mention while also maintaining a successful career in real estate. Commendable for sure. In this episode we get into how she uses positivity to help her mentally prepare for the day, how she helps manage her client’s stress levels through the potential difficulties of a real estate transaction, some of the really great things that are happening right here in our community and finish with Robin’s “Grateful 4”.

**Still rough with the editing and repeating myself. HUGE shoutout to Robin for dealing with the struggles and being super supportive. Really appreciate your patience!

Episode 4 – Don Day and Chris Day (Intero Real Estate)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-4-chris-and-don-day

This episode is with the father-son, real estate powerhouse duo Chris and Don Day. I was really excited to sit down with both of these guys and pick their brains on how they have become such great examples of pretty much everything we stand for here at Spread The Positive. Don is a national public speaker that has shared the stage with some of the top motivational speakers in the world. Him and Chris both are very involved with a monthly series called, “Super Friday” that is a way to give back to a community they feel has given so much to them. I have attended several of these events and honestly look forward to them quite a bit. I have only missed one since the first one I attended. Don speaks on many topics like his faith, mindset, productivity, mindset and just all around knowledge of what motivates people to really strive to be their best and positivity is usually a very common theme throughout all of his content.

On a very similar note, Chris is one of the most stand up human beings I have come across. Among many of his other accomplishments, Chris has been instrumental in the formation of Murfreesboro Young Professionals, which has really grown into something special with the community. Chris has also served on countless other boards throughout his time here in the area and is just a genuinely great individual. Super family oriented and focused on where he wants to go in life. Chris has some of my favorite social media feeds of anyone I know (personally or famous). It is either him with his family or uplifting quotes, pictures, thoughts and more that just put others in a better frame of mind without even realizing it. Another thing we are obviously all about here at Spread The Positive.

I can honestly say I look up to both of these guys on a pretty crazy level and again I am so thankful for the opportunity to speak with them about what they do to Spread The Positive.

Episode 5 – Korey Akers (CrossFit Rampage)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-5-korey-akers

Episode 5 is with Korey Akers of Crossfit Rampage in Murfreesboro, TN. Korey is the owner and head fitness instructor at his own gym and helped me early on when I first moved to Murfreesboro in more ways than he probably realizes.

Beyond the fitness advice and encouragement he gave me (while I struggled horribly at attempting to do Cross fit style workouts when I was close to 40 lb. over weight) it was also the way he ran his business, how consistent he was in the way he treated anyone who came in and just how he operated in general. So when looking for guest for the podcast he was a very obvious choice to ask. I am in the same networking group as Korey and get to interact and keep up with what he has been and is looking to do with Crossfit Rampage on a weekly basis. It’s impressive how clear his vision is for what he is ultimately trying to build.

We get into many topics including; how Korey developed his passion for teaching fitness, how he focuses on maintaining a positive outlook no matter how difficult situations may be, why he thinks it’s important to make a conscious effort in that regard, some Gary Vee talk and finish with his “Grateful 4”. Really good stuff and truly appreciate Korey taking the time to do this and for all he does to Spread The Positive.

Episode 6 – Lisa Harless (Regions Bank – Sports and Entertainment)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-6-lisa-harless

Episode 6 is with the one and only Lisa Harless. Lisa is the Head Banker of the Sports and Entertainment Division at Regions Bank. She works right in the heart of Music Row here in Nashville and does incredibly big things with some of the biggest artists in the world. She is involved with countless non profits, does philanthropy work on a massive scale here in Middle TN. Of all her titles, her favorite one is “Aunt Lisa” to her 50+ nieces/nephews and grandnieces/grandnephews. Ha yes, 50. She is just a really incredible person all around.

Little backstory, I met Lisa at a GNAA (Greater Nashville Apartment Association) Luncheon where she was the keynote speaker. In her presentation that was literally all about everything, we talk about on this podcast. She even said the line, “spread the positive” at one point in her presentation. Ha needless to say I really wanted to speak with her after the luncheon was over. Luckily for me she is one of the nicest human beings I have ever met, was gratuitous enough to speak with me for a good 10 minutes about Spread The Positive and my work within in the apartment association. We exchanged information and eventually emails leading to us setting up a time to do the podcast. Lisa’s episode is chalked full of great stories, tips, examples of how smaller kind gestures go further than we realize, how positivity has played such a key role in her success and we finished with her “Grateful 4”. It was a real pleasure sitting down with Lisa to hear her story and get some insight on how she maintains such a optimistic/positive mindset. She is definitely everything we are looking to showcase here at Spread The Positive. Thanks for all you do Lisa!

Episode 7 – Pete Adams (Adams and Swann)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-8-pete-adams

This episode features Pete Adams with Adams & Swann, a digital marketing, advertising and creative web development firm in Murfreesboro, TN.

Pete is a Board Member for Murfreesboro Young Professionals and Rutherford County Emergency Food Bank, a deacon at his church (First Baptist Murfreesboro) and holds his favorite title of “Best Daddy in the World” according to his daughter Aubrey. I have gotten to know Pete through MYP and a golf networking group he is highly involved with called, “Fore Networking”. Looking forward to getting back out there with Fore! Pete is just an optimistic guy in general and someone I look to for not only web development and marketing tips, but also with his thoughts on life in general. He is knowledgable on many subjects and is really invested in making his community a better place for all.

In this podcast, Pete sheds light on how he developed a positive mindset through life lessons taught by his Grandfather (focusing on different ways of being a leader), some great examples of “what is going right”, his Grateful 4 and some other really great tidbits on how positivity helps him in his day to day life.

Really appreciate Pete taking the time to be on the podcast and all he does to Spread The Positive!

Episode 8 – Scott Kimberly, Gabriel Frazier and Chase Salas (BEACH EDITION)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-8-scott-kimberly-gabriel-frazier-and-chase-salas

BEACH Edition. Big thanks to Scott Kimberly, Gabe Frazier and Chase Salas for being good sports while on a beach trip and getting on the mic for a Spread The Positive podcast. There are some memorable moments on this one for sure. Really grateful for all three of these guys and the trip. Shout out to “Bridgey McBridgeface”.

Episode 9 – Adam Cole (Actor)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-9-adam-cole-actor

This episode is featuring one of the most original and true ambassadors of everything Spread The Positive is about. Christopher Adam Cole, (or Coletrain for those who know) is from Asheville, NC and is currently involved with residential framing in the construction world in Western North Carolina and passionately pursuing a career in acting. (I still call dibs on the role of Turtle when you hit Vinny Chase status. I called that early. Ha.) Adam has traveled the world pursuing his passion for acting and has made tremendous strides within the industry for his relatively short time being fully involved. I will work on getting a link to his work.

Anyway, from playing basketball on lowered goals in various neighborhoods to constantly trying to figure this thing called life out for the past 25 or so years, we have grown together and I’m really grateful for this guy’s friendship.

As we get into on the episode it was actually his voicemail greeting that sparked the trigger for what has ultimately become Spread The Positive.

“Hey this is Adam, sorry I missed your call. HOPE YOU’RE SPREADING THE POSITIVE. Leave me a message and I’ll call you back.”

I said, “Man I hope I’m spreading the positive too…if I’m not doing anything else I’m going to do that”. Not even entirely sure what it actually meant at the time, I recognized that moment in time set something off in my brain that I will never forget. I have people ask me what is “Spread The Positive” all the time, this episode of the podcast is officially my answer.

We get into the real bread and butter of what Spread The Positive is, where it came from and what it hopefully will be. So glad we finally got some of this recorded and looking forward to many more episodes with Coletrain and TD on the mic. Thanks for all you do to Spread The Positive.

Episode 10 – Larry Butler (Did It Music)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/sperad-the-positive-podcast-episode-10-larry-butler

This was truly an incredible experience speaking with Larry Butler of Did It Music here in Nashville. Larry’s full bio is below and it is worth the read for sure. I could have talked with Larry for another couple of hours. His stories and insight on not only everything in the music industry but just life in general is something I am really thankful we got recorded. Larry dropped some real knowledge on so much about everything Spread The Positive really is. Huge shoutout to Lisa Harless with Regions Bank, for connecting us with Larry. Lisa is such an amazing lady and has helped us here at Spread The Positive so much. We are super grateful for all of it. Thanks again Larry and look forward to collaborating with you and Did It Music in the near future.

Larry’s Newest Book: amzn.to/2o4osB8

Larry Butler bio – Did It Music – Nashville – March 2018

Larry Butler has devoted his entire life to the music business, specializing in live performance and touring. Larry played keyboards in Ohio bands during high school and college, also serving as band manager and lead singer. While still in college, he was a successful nightclub owner and local concert promoter in Cincinnati.

Also during that time period, his band performed as the opening act for the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys and the Byrds, among others. He even jammed with Jimi Hendrix once at a late night Northern Kentucky club following his Cincinnati show. Larry moved to Los Angeles to begin working as a tour manager for such artists as Randy Newman and Ry Cooder. He then took on an international tour for Isaac Hayes, which included the first-ever performances for mixed race audiences in South Africa. Following the tour, he accompanied Isaac and his band into the studio for his post-Shaft comeback album.

In the late ‘70s, Larry began working with Warner Bros. Records as an in-house tour manager for brand new artists, bringing professionalism to their staging, performance techniques and touring logistics. Those efforts led to a full-time position at WBR, first as National College Manager, then West Coast Artist Development Director and finally as VP of Artist Relations.

Larry spent the next 20+ years touring with an unrivaled roster of talent, winning a couple of PollStar Artist Development Executive awards along the way. In addition to guiding a touring field staff, he devised, cleared, funded and settled all artist tour support budgets while overseeing the tour marketing and promotion tours for the Warner Bros. and Reprise promotion and sales teams.

From there, Larry joined Bill Silva Management as General Manager where he coordinated the projects of the firm’s managers and artists. He also organized and ran Jason Mraz’s publishing during the wild run of “I’m Yours.” Simultaneously, he served as day-to- day manager for Silva client Robert Francis through his Atlantic Records signing and subsequent #1 single and touring success in Europe. In 2014, Larry concurrently took on the position of General Manager for The Artist Cooperative, an independent record label services company comprised of mostly former Warner Bros. and Reprise Records promotion and marketing executives. Larry now heads up his own Did It Music from the relative security and serenity of Nashville. He is also affiliated with ASCAP as a songwriter and music publisher. He has also accumulated 365 Musical Tips of the Day from rock stars he has encountered along the way regarding songwriting, recording, and performing, and he posts one a day on Twitter. You can follow him at @larryfromohio. Larry’s first book was one of advice and tips for songwriters, musicians and performers entitled The Twelve Lessons of Rock ‘N’ Roll (for Your Career and Your Life), which is available at Amazon/Kindle. The Lessons are based on experiences and events he witnessed while on the road with rock ‘n’ roll artists and bands. There’s even a chapter about being in the right place at the right time, with specifics about the Rolling Stones gig and the Jimi Hendrix jam.

His current book is THE SINGER/SONGWRITER BOOT CAMP RULE BOOK: 101 WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF SUCCESS.The essence of the book is that nothing happens until you have created the
music, learned the craft of performance, and mastered the art of live entertainment. That’s what this book is all about. It is also available at Amazon in digital and print form at amzn.to/2o4osB8

We get into how he developed this passion for helping others, how he maintains a positive mindset on a daily basis, what he thinks is working/going right in the world and much more. Super grateful to get some of Ben B’s “Truth” on the mic. Thank you for all you do to Spread The Positive Ben!

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-12-george-simpson

This episode is with my close friend, George Simpson. George is a Business Development Executive for Northwest Exterminating. He is a great example (most of the time, like the rest of us) of what we are trying to high light on the podcast. George is passionate about his career and the company he represents. His team and people that work for him respect him on a crazy level, he’s really good at making himself laugh (and the others around him), he has a level of integrity that is second to none and I am very grateful to call him my friend. Thank you for being on the podcast G and for all you do to Spread The Positive.

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-interview-with-dr-james-dawes

This episode of the podcast is with Dr. James Dawes with Stones River Chiropractic here in Murfreesboro, TN. Dr. Dawes sheds some light on how he focuses on positivity in general, what he is doing in his current life, things/organizations he feels are aiding in “what is going right” and some ways to “reverse hack” feeling better physically/mentally from very simple changes in posture. Dr. Dawes is passionate about what he does and the value that he brings to his clients day to day life. I can also say he is one of the most ethical and genuine business people I have come across in some time. Just an all around great example of what Spread The Positive is looking to highlight more of. Big thanks to Dr. Dawes for his time and all he does to Spread The Positive.

Episode 15 – Tobias Maskell (Lifestyle Entrepreneur)

Episode 16 – OJ (Sincere-Universal) Beane (Educator/Wellness Coach)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-16-ojsincere-beane-educatorwellness-coach

This episode is a follow up from the inaugural test run episode with OJ “Sincere-Universal” Beane. OJ is one of the most genuinely great human beings I have come across. He has been working as a teacher with “at risk” youth since 1999 and is passionate about shaping the minds of the youth. We get into some of his backstory/childhood, some of his fundamental truths, how he focuses on finding the “good” in any situation and much more. To say OJ is an ambassador for everything we are about here at Spread The Positive is a huge understatement. OJ also has a really special bond with Ronde and Tiki Barber (NFL super star twins). We get into some of the really great things they have done on and off the field that are everything Spread The Positive as well.

I am super grateful to have crossed paths with this guy and appreciate him on a crazy level. A peaceful warrior that makes a super positive impact in the lives of people he works with in the classroom and in his day to day interactions with friends, acquaintances and strangers. We are looking into having a recurring version of podcast where the two of us co-host the episode and talk with guests. Keep an eye out for that.

Thanks for all you do to Spread The Positive OJ.

Episode 17 – Jennifer Durand (Nurture Nook Day Spa)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-17-jennifer-durand-owner-the-nature-nook-day-spa

This episode is with Jennifer Durand, the owner/founder of The Nurture Nook Day Spa and Gift Shoppe in Murfreesboro, TN. Jennifer has been recommended by several people/guests of the podcast, after meeting with her and this conversation it is easy to see why. She is great example of everything Spread The Positive is about. Jennifer has an extensive background in beauty, health, wellness and is a licensed massage therapist. We speak about her background/upbringing, practices to maintain a healthy/positive mindset, being conscious of the energy around us/that we carry with us and much more.

Through her personal work and with her business Jennifer is a huge advocate for the Murfreesboro community. She helps out with countless charitable causes and The Nurture Nook provides a much needed, peaceful escape for thousands of people here in Murfreesboro. We could not recommend a place more if you need to recharge your batteries. The energy at The Nurture Nook is incredible and I felt better just being in the building. Go see them at The Nurture Nook.

I really enjoyed this conversation and look forward to future endeavors/collaborative efforts with Jennifer and The Nurture Nook. Thank you for all you do to Spread The Positive Jennifer!

Episode 18 – Ashley Cole (Social Worker/Trauma Educator)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-18-ashley-cole-social-workertrauma-educator

This episode of the podcast is with Ashley Cole. Ashley is Social Worker that focuses on helping individuals going through serious trauma. From an early age Ashley has been passionate about helping others in the mental health field. She is also the sister of STP ambassador/previous guest on the podcast, Adam Cole. To say that both of these people have been influential in Spread The Positive happening and still being around today is an understatement. Ashley is an incredible example of everything we are looking to showcase on the podcast. She has great tips on how to maintain a healthy, positive mental attitude and the meaning of “Spread The Positive” that has formed for her through her time working in this field is really something special to hear about. It was a real pleasure having Ashley on the podcast and hope to have an episode or two (maybe even a segment) with the Cole siblings both being involved with a group session of the podcast. Thank you for all you do to Spread The Positive Ashley!

Episode 19 – Casey Rainey (Financial Advisor)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-19-casey-rainey

This episode is with Casey “Rainmaker” Rainey. A financial planner with Raymond James and ridiculously involved with so many causes here in Middle Tennessee, Casey is a textbook example of what we are looking to highlight on our show. One of my all time “Grateful 4’s” is from 3 years ago when I was paired with Casey in a golf tournament at Old Fort Golf Club here in town. We had met briefly at a Murfreesboro Young Professional’s function, but nothing too in depth. I am a firm believer you can really find out a lot about a person in one round of golf and I did that day for sure. Definitely remember that round very vividly. I was really blown away by the level of genuine concern he had to know about me, what I was involved with and how he could potentially help me in any way. He has certainly done more than he knows to help me personally, but also with some initial advice/guidance on how to approach STP here in Murfreesboro. Just a super stand up guy all around and someone I look up to on a pretty crazy level. Casey has a really impressive resume that would take a long time to cover fully. To put it briefly he has been very influential on the Board at United Way, he’s the “Godfather” of Murfreesboro Young Professionals, he was recently named one of the “Top 20 Under 40” by Murfreesboro Magazine, his attire is always “GQ” official, really talented at the work he does and represents everything Spread The Positive stands for day in and day out. Really grateful for Casey being involve with the podcast, all of the support he has shown us up until this point and for all he continues to do to Spread The Positive! Thanks Casey!

Episode 20 – Joni Thomas (Health and Wellness Advocate/doTerra Essential Oils)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-20-joni-thomas-health-and-wellness-advocate

This episode of the podcast is with Joni Thomas who is a health and wellness advocate in Nashville, TN. Joni has an amazing story and definitely lives a life everything Spread The Positive is all about. We speak about her upbringing in New York City with a mother in show business, then moving to Ohio (having some interesting times there), to being here in Nashville very involved with the music industry as well as a very successful interior designer, to having a TV show, to her current job where she works with doTerra essential oils and more. A fellow ENFP (if you are familiar with Myers Briggs)and someone I personally relate to on a crazy level. This episode gets into how being positive is not always easy and how important it is to make a conscious decision on making focused efforts to be more optimistic, positive and hopeful overall. Joni has some amazing tips and really scientific facts on how to reverse hack being “happier”. We also speak on how Joni was always drawn to the “outsider” type person that would often times not have the most friends or be part of the popular crowd. This is something I think we can all really take a second to consider and look to be better at. One of main themes with Spread The Positive, is a sense of acceptance/tolerance for everyone. Joni speaks on the importance of really trying to finding common ground with any and every one we come in contact with. By recognizing that we are all so similar with basically the same intentions for living a rewarding life, yet the labels and how we always have to pick a side on polarizing subjects cause us to lose sight of this and how it effects the “bigger picture”.

Through her practice with doTerra oils and countless causes/organizations that she has been and is currently helping with Joni makes a positive impact on so many people here in Nashville and beyond. Lisa Harless (podcast guest #6) introduced Joni to the podcast/mission, (huge shout out to Lisa as always) and needless to say Joni was a big fan of the idea and wanted to be involved. This episode was needed and touches on many of the key components of what Spread The Positive is founded on. Looking forward to future endeavors with Joni and all of the amazing work she is doing. Huge thank you to Joni for all she does to Spread The Positive.

Spread The Positive Podcast – Episode 22 – Russ Hensley

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-22-russ-hensley-ranger-home-improvement

Really awesome episode with Russ Hensley, a very talented “home improvement specialist” (much more than your average “Handyman” – we don’t like labels) with his own company called, “Ranger Home Improvement”. Russ served as an Army Ranger, has an incredible work ethic, is one of the most genuinely solid human beings I have come across and is certainly a great example of what we are looking to showcase on the Spread The Positive Podcast. Russ has a long history in construction and project management. He has been at it for a long time. Like roofing his parent’s house when he was 10 years old BY HIMSELF. Insane. Russ has an amazing story, that we speak on and we also cover the typical STP subjects like, positive mindset tips, gratitude practices, what Russ thinks “is going right” in the world and more. Really grateful to have Russ on the podcast and for all he does to Spread The Positive!

Spread The Positive Podcast – Episode 23 – Shawn Coss and Michael Nemitz (Any Means Necessary Clothing)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-23-shawn-coss-and-michael-nemitz-amn-clothing

****DISCLAIMER**** There is quite a bit of profanity in this episode, not really suitable for children (and beyond…use discretion with this episode). This one would have a parental advisory sticker on it…if that was a thing on podcasts. Official disclaimer in the intro to the podcast too. Real life subjects and traumatic experiences are brought up and both of these guys are brutally honest about how they operate.

This episode features Shawn Coss and Michael Nemitz. These guys have created a brand called, “Any Means Necessary”. Coming in up in Akron, OH these guys have overcome some real adversity to create this brand. They are very honest and do not hold back when it comes to verbalizing how they really feel. Ha. Again quite a bit of cursing on this episode and quite a bit different than what we have been doing thus far on the podcast. This episode is a great example of how positivity can be found in many different ways. One of the main focuses of this podcast is for people to share any and everything they find positivity in. Although most of the art that is used for the clothing for “Any Means Necessary” is pretty “dark/gothic” they still have an overall mission of creating a culture of people that don’t give up on life and will do what it takes to live the life that they want to. That is definitely STP all around. Both of these guys have had very, very difficult situations and life setbacks that have led them to where they are now in life. Another disclaimer is that there are some pretty traumatic experiences that are brought up in this conversation. This type of episode was needed, to show that even through some of the hardest situations you can draw up that both of these guys never gave up and are living their dream creating a clothing brand that represents everything they stand for. One of their main focuses through the building of AMN is to raise awareness for “Mental Health”. They have donated thousands of dollars and have participated in countless events, fundraising, etc to help with efforts in the mental health field. Everything about these guys is really inspiring and we are definitely pulling for them with all that they are doing. Thanks again to Shawn and Michael for all they are doing to Spread The Positive. ****Listener discretion is advised.****

Spread The Positive Podcast – Episode 24 – Dimitri Schemel (Lighthouse Realty WNC – Keller Williams)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/spread-the-positive-podcast-episode-24-dimitri-shemel

Wow. This episode gets at the heart strings hard. A longtime supporter of Spread The Positive, Dimitri Schemel, is a Realtor with Lighthouse Realty a team within Keller Williams in Asheville, NC that has a really incredible story. Including a recent life altering accident that has changed his life in a really positive way. I have reached out to Dimitri multiple times in the past about being involved with STP and even more recently to be a guest on the podcast. This is before all of this happened to him and we could never get to work out for one reason or another. After this accident a literal “second lease on life” Dimitri felt compelled to tell his story and how much it has made him appreciate life. He has always been a really stand up guy, that is very community oriented and is genuinely looking to make the world better than the way he found it. However, this experience has taking this all to a whole new level. The struggle and recovery process has not been easy but he is on the fast track to getting his life to an even better place than he was before. It’s really an incredible story. This is definitely an episode that makes you think about what is really important, how quickly everything can change and to be grateful for all of the moments, positive or negative. I’m just really grateful for this episode period, because Dimitri is really lucky to still be here, let alone able to speak about how all of this has changed him for the better. This one is special. Follow Dimitri’s Instagram (www.instagram.com/_dimitrihenry_) to recap all of the surgeries and see the continued improvement he is making. Huge salute to everything Dimitri has going now (and before the accident), from his real estate career, to being a “Big Brother” through Big Brothers Big Sisters, to helping with volunteer efforts with multiple organizations, to running multiple marathons/triathlons and much more this guy is definitely a “walking miracle” and he is not taking it for granted! Spread The Positive Podcast – Episode 25 – Taylor Loyal (Second Harvest Food Bank)

https://soundcloud.com/spreadthepositive/episode-25-taylor-loyal-second-harvest-food-bank

This episode of the podcast is with Taylor Loyal with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. To anyone who is not familiar with Second Harvest (secondharvestmidtn.org) please do so. This organization does some really incredible work in Middle Tennessee and beyond. Taylor is one of the main people on the business development/operations side here in Rutherford County. His work is really inspiring and as you can hear from the podcast, his career is something that he is truly passionate about. His two main missions in life are to be the best Husband/Father he can be and to help as many people as he can, through his “career”. It just so happens his career is based on reallocating perishable goods that would otherwise get thrown away and use them to feed people in need. This is a textbook example of what is “going right” in the world. Taylor’s approach to not only his work but his life, in general, is everything we are about here at Spread The Positive. This was one of my favorite episodes that we have done so far. It is really refreshing hearing about initiatives and organizations like Second Harvest that are having such a positive impact on the community they serve. The numbers are ridiculous. Not to mention Taylor’s story and way of delivering some of his points are just really awesome.

Please support Second Harvest any way you are able. We are looking into collaborative efforts that would benefit Second Harvest on a recurring basis, so please keep an eye out for all of that! Huge thank you to Taylor and everything he does to Spread The Positive!

“Jacob Martin’s relationship with music deepened at age 8 when he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.  Paralyzed from the waist down the Shriners Hospital provided critical care as Jacob battled this debilitating disease.  While the Shriners helped him fight the physical battle he focused his emotional and mental energy on music.  Lyrics from the Michael Card song Meditation / Baptism “ The deaf will hear, and the dumb will talk, The blind will see, and the lame will walk” played over and over in my head.  It gave me the strength to physically pull myself up and begin to push through my recovery.  Music has quite literally saved my life,” he professed.”

Needless to say, Jacob has a really inspiring story and has overcome so much in his life. In addition to a successful music career, Jacob is also passionate about empowering children who have similar battles/obstacles that he has dealt with in the past. He has a “Bandtwango” campaign called “YES We Can” that he is currently promoting to raise money for a tour of children’s hospitals around the country. He recently went to the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, KY to sing and hang out with the kids. Not a real spoiler alert but he said it was moving beyond words. Long story short, Jacob is just a really great human being that is utilizing a platform he has created through a ridiculous amount of hard work to encourage others that they can do the same thing and really anything is possible. Big shout out to Lisa Harless with Regions Bank (per usual) for the introduction and ultimately making all of this happen. This episode of the podcast is with Wayne Faust. Wayne is a clinical psychologist and the Author of the Book “300 Billion To One”. Here is a brief description of the book.

“300 Billion to One is an inspirational book for all ages. A Clinical Therapist loses his own motivation to live after the passing of his beloved wife. He regains it after God sends back his wife to visit him two weeks after she passed to help him move forward again. Recognizing that the experience with simple odds could be explained away by non-believers, he thanked God, wrote the odds in his grief journal and asked God to not let him forget the experience a week, month or year from now. God answered with a series of interventions within minutes. A former neighbor came to his home while he was praying this prayer of thanks. He greeted her and she related to him her dream recounting the exact experience the SAME night BEFORE hearing his story! A series of interventions continued to keep his hope high and his faith strong. 300 Billion to One shows the foresight and love of God to transcend time and begin answering our prayers before we even pray them. This documented series of miraculous interventions provides an insight into the mind of God-how he thinks about us, loves us and wants to give us sustained hope until we meet Him on the other side. 300 Billion to One will forever change the way you think about the character and magnitude of God’s love for us.”

“We are Nashville’s first donation based coffee house providing a unique take on the traditional coffee scene by using locally roasted artisanal coffee and espresso to change our community one sip at a time. 90% of the profit goes directly to the community, additionally each quarter we partner with a missional organization to help raise both awareness and funds for causes in Nashville and beyond. Our goal is to brew more than just good coffee, we want to brew up change and community too.

WHAT EXACTLY IS DONATION BASED?
It is exactly what it sounds like– instead of telling you the price of your coffee, tea, etc you tell us. Give what you can/ what you feel. We want CCH to be a place where EVERYONE feels welcome and where we make a difference. 100% of our profits go straight back to making positive changes in Nashville.
