This episode is with Evans Prater, Founder/Owner of Mount Inspiration (mountinspiration.com), an apparel company out of Asheville, NC. Evans is a young entrepreneur who had a spiritual experience while “thru-hiking” the Appalachian Trail (latch not lay – get it right) that led him to creating a really incredible brand called Mount Inspiration. Pretty fitting if you ask me. This obviously hits home because the ultimate vision for Mount Inspiration is incredibly similar to everything we are pushing here at Spread The Positive. Like really similar. Evans has a really awesome story. From overcoming some early adversity that he speaks on, to that adversity being a huge blessing in disguise, to hiking the AT, to creating a vision/brand that is having such a positive effect on the world and really just living an overall positive and optimistic life.

Evans is a really great example of Spread The Positive. His current life consists of 12-15 hr days M-F screen printing shirts, responding to orders/issues, putting out fires, planning everything and then traveling to fesitivals/trade shows most weekends. To say he is hungry to make Mount Inspiration everything it can be is a real understatement. Again this one hits home pretty hard, due to the fact we are looking to do basically the same thing with Spread The Positive. Might have to call Evans “Hov” cause he is laying the blueprint for a “grassroots positive movement” (not that it hasn’t been done before), but the way he is doing it is truly commendable and his approach is really impressive all around. I personally took quite a bit away from this one, on a bigger picture/appreciate life level.

We do have to give Evans a huge shoutout for the designs for our first batch of merchandise. He is super talented at graphic design and has an eye for apparel. If you are looking for custom tees through a sustainable apparel company, Mount Inspiration is tough to beat. Look them up!
