Episode 71 – Abdou Kattih & Sarah Alzabet (Murfreesboro Muslim Youth

This episode of the podcast is with Abdou Kattih and Sarah Alzabet with Murfreesboro Muslim Youth. This organization does a tremendous amount of outreach efforts and is passionate about making a positive impact on the community. They do community events like “Love Your Neighbor”. There are quarterly meet ups where they have a potluck dinner that is open to anyone in the community. The whole mission is to bring people from different walks of life together to spend time with one another and learn about different cultures. Something we are definitely about here at Spread The Positive, finding that common ground and being accepting of people that don’t believe the same things you do. Murfreesboro Muslim Youth is currently wrapping up a project they dedicated to the 50 victims of the New Zealand mass shooting that happened recently. It is called 50 for 50They are doing 50 acts of kindness for each person that lost their lives in the attack. From raising funds and resources for local nonprofits like “Murfreesboro Cold Patrol” to planting 50 trees along the greenway to honor the victims. This group of young people is being the change they want to see in the world. The numbers speak for themselves…over 2,500 hours of community service, 3,000+ meals served to people in need, 3,000+ schools supplies raised for students who need them, and much more. MMY is definitely a great example of “what is going right” in the world. Abdou and Sarah both have some really great insights on the typical STP topics. Very grateful for all they are doing to help the community here in Middle TN and beyond. Thank you for being on the podcast and all you do to Spread The Positive.
